Studio Art/Art Education Applicants

No later than February 1, Studio Art and Art Education applicants submit a web-based portfolio to SlideRoom to complete their graduate application.

  • Choose from one of the following programs: Ceramics, Drawing/Painting, Printmaking, Sculpture, Creative Photography, Digital Media, Graphic Design or Art Education to submit a coherent body of recent work. There is a $10 submission fee that you pay online after you set up and review your portfolio.

  • Images and videos can be labeled and ordered after they are uploaded. Include the title of the work, medium, size and date. You may also include the URL for your website.

  • Maximum file sizes:
    images - .jpg, .png or .gif – 2 MB each. For good image quality and fast upload, your image files should be sized no larger than 1280 x 1280 px @ 72 dpi.
    video - .mov, .wmv, .flv – up to 20 MB;
    PDF - 10 MB per document.

  • Upload a resume and statement of purpose that communicates your artistic experiences and decision to attend graduate school at the University of Florida. Be sure to include your goals and how you will contribute to the life of the graduate student program in order to meet your goals.

Ceramics, Drawing, Painting, Printmaking, or Sculpture requests 20 professional quality images (jpg) of your most recent work.

The following studio art programs request digital portfolios with varying specifications:

Creative Photography applicants submit up to 20 professional quality images (jpg) of their most recent work and/or one-minute video excerpts of five works, but you must also mail a CD or DVD containing full versions of the 5 excerpted pieces.

Digital Media applicants are required to submit a digital portfolio in the form of a URL, CD, or DVD of up to 20 images, video, executable programs. Your materials must function on a Mac OS platform. You may also provide a URL and one-minute excerpts of five works on SlideRoom, but you must also mail a DVD containing full versions of these 5 excerpted pieces.

Graphic Design applicants submit a digital portfolio that may include professional quality images, PDFs or provide a URL. You may also submit a CD or DVD or non-digital support materials to supplement your application.

Art Education applicants submit up to 10 professional quality images (jpg) as well as an example of a research paper, article, or other sample of academic writing.
