Kids' Privacy Statement

The @rt room web site is designed for educational purposes only. There are no advertising banners or other commercial intent anywhere on the site. Any endorsements made regarding books, materials, other web sites, or products are intended to be recommendations based on educational quality alone. We do not receive any payments or credits for these endorsements.

Children may submit work to be considered for display in the @rt gallery. In which case, we do ask for the name and age (or grade) of the child as well as school or city residence information. We collect this information only when work is submitted and only for the purpose of acknowledging the child's work if it is displayed. Only the child's first name will be used to identify his or her work in the gallery (and, in some cases, along with a last initial when it is provided.)

Children may also submit comments and questions to the site's Webmaster. Some of these comments are posted on the visitor comments page. Once again, only the first name of the respondent is used.

There is no effort to collect names of children (or adults) visiting the site or sending messages or art work. There is no database of visitors maintained and no effort is made to track visitors on the site. There are no "chat rooms" or places where children may engage in instant messaging on the site. In short, we respect the privacy of kids who visit the site and make every effort to keep the site "commercial free" and "kid friendly."

In should be noted, however, that the @rt room makes extensive use of links to other sites on the World Wide Web. While every effort is made to screen sites used for any heavy commercial advertising or possibly offensive materials, we assume no responsibilty for the content of other Web sites.
