Graduate Assistantship in Clarinet Performance

 

The University of Florida School of Music announces an opening for the position of Graduate Assistant in Clarinet Performance. This appointment is available for the academic year 2008-2009 and 2009-2010.

The responsibilities of the position will include:  

  • teaching undergraduate clarinet students
  • teaching woodwind methods classes
  • performing in University of Florida ensembles
  • assisting with the University of Florida Clarinet Ensemble
  • assisting Professor Estrin in the day to day operations of the Clarinet Studio

Qualifications for this position are: an undergraduate degree from an accredited institution, a strong background in clarinet performance, excellent communication and organizational skills, and an outstanding musical/academic record.

Audition Requirements: 1. Mozart - Clarinet Concerto
                                   
2. A contrasting solo selection of your own choosing
                                    3. First clarinet orchestral excerpts:
                                        Beethoven - Symphony No. 6 
                                       
Brahms - Symphony No. 3
                                       
Rimsky-Korsakov - Capriccio Espagnol
