ADMISSIONS

Admissions is selective, but may be gained at the freshmen, sophomore or junior level. Students may be admitted to the College of Fine Arts their first term in residence. An audition is required for acceptance as an undergraduate music major.

Transfer students 

Choose the type of admission you desire:

~ Freshmen
~ Lower Division Transfer (At the time of my matriculation I will transfer less than 60 credits)
~ Upper Division Transfer - Provisional  (I will have an AA or at least 60 hours at the time of my matriculation. 
  I DO NOT have the Professional Requirements listed below.)
~ Upper Division Transfer - Professional (I will have an AA or at least 60 hours at the time of my matriculation. 
  I DO have the Professional Requirements listed below.)  
~ Minor
~ Graduate

To be considered for admission at the Professional Level (transfer students only) you must have:

• Four semesters of theory                      
• Four semesters of studio
• Four semesters of piano
• Four semesters of ensemble
• One semester of MUL 2110 (Musical Styles)
• Four semesters of Recital Attendance

Graduate Studies at the School of Music

Admission to Master of Music (MM) and PhD programs in Music and Music Education is determined by academic credentials, the Graduate Record Examination (GRE), upper division GPA, audition, and recommendations. For music performance and conducting master's degrees, the GRE is NOT required for applicants who have earned a U.S. bachelor's degree. The GRE is also NOT required for Ph.D. applicants who have earned a U.S. master's degree in Music.
