Giving Opportunities

Gifts of Cash and Securities

Receive financial benefits through tax deductible gifts to the College of Fine Arts and its programs. Outright gifts of cash can be directed for immediate benefit to the College of Fine Arts and any specific school or program that you are interested in supporting. Wire transfers are made to the University of Florida Foundation and negotiated at the time of receipt. Proceeds are then deposited to the designated programs or educational purpose that the donor has identified. Donations can be made online or by check (payable to the University of Florida Foundation, Inc. and mailed to College of Fine Arts, Development Office, PO Box 115800, Gainesville, FL 32611-5800). Please indicate if you choose to designate the purpose of your gift (e.g., College of Fine Arts general fund, specific school or program, scholarship fund, equipment, etc.). Donors of $2,000 or more a year are recognized through membership to the University of Florida President's Council.

Endowments

Endowment funds provide a perpetual stream of income to support the College of Fine Arts priorities and serve to help fulfill the College's mission. Donors may establish a named professorship, scholarship or fellowship or may fund an endowment that supports teaching, research or a specific program in one of the College of Fine Arts schools, institute or centers. A minimum gift of $30,000 can establish an endowed fund.

Life Income Plans

Determine your potential benefits through the creation of a charitable remainder trust or a charitable gift annuity. Life income plans allow you to make a substantial gift to the College and at the same time retain a benefit from the assets you give. Furthermore, tax benefits, increased gifting potential and stream of income during your lifetime are features of these giving opportunities. Charitable lead trusts and donor advised funds are also potentially beneficial ways to create income for the College and preserve assets for you and your heirs. Your financial advisor will know which of these vehicles may be appropriate for you.

Tangible Property

Gifts of real estate are welcomed. The University of Florida Foundation has experienced real estate and other professional staff to assist you if you are considering gifts of real estate. Our procedures (both trust & non trust) for accepting real estate gifts are simple, and our comprehensive real estate policy provides assurance that gifts will be handled professionally to achieve the charitable goals envisioned by the donor. Although most gifts are given outright, many also fund charitable remainder trusts (CRT) that pay income to the donor or other beneficiaries designated by the donor. For more information, please contact the development office.

Life Insurance Policies

Make the College of Fine Arts a beneficiary of an insurance policy. If there is no longer a need to provide for dependents, this form of planned gift offers a simple way to support the College. Discussion with the development office and the University of Florida Foundation Office of Planned Giving can provide you with information for your financial advisors in determining the benefits of such a gift.

Bequests

Document your gift intentions to the College of Fine Arts in your will through your estate planning professionals. Your bequest expresses your lasting commitment to the College of Fine Arts and contributes to growth and ongoing success of the institution. A bequest can have potential benefits to meet your estate-planning goals. The development office would be pleased to discuss your interests. Documenting your bequest intent with the University of Florida Foundation to benefit the College of Fine Arts can qualify you for the University's Bequest Society with related benefits during your lifetime.
