The Society of Art History Graduates (SAHG) is an organization dedicated to both the support of the Art History and Museum Studies graduate students at the University of Florida and to the promotion and dissemination of Art Historical knowledge. To this end, every Spring we host a graduate symposium that solicits papers from students all over the country. The purpose of the symposium is to provide a forum for graduate and postgraduate students to present papers on rotating topics. Offering a rare opportunity for young scholars to give papers in a public forum, it is free and open to the public. SAHG also hosts social events that allow grad students to interact in a stress free environment, and funds an annual trip to a museum in the Southeast. It is also a goal of SAHG to contribute to the university community in a variety of constructive ways; many of our members hope to become educators in the academic or museological fields. Thus, the dissemination of art historical information to the general population of the University of Florida is one of our primary objectives.
