An online copy of a handout from Craig Roland's session on teaching thinking in the art classroom presented at the National Art Education Association Conference in New York on March 16, 2001.

Its the Thought That Counts 1 - pages 1-15 (PDF file size approximately 2.4 MB)

Its the thought That Counts 2 pages 16-32 (PDF file size approximately 3.6 MB)

The total document is 33 pages in length with the cover. The document has been split into two sections to ease the download time. Both files are in PDF format and require Adobe Acrobat Reader 4.0 for viewing. Most new browsers come with Acrobat Reader already installed and configured, which means that the Reader opens up in the browser simply by clicking on a PDF link. If your browser isn't configured with Acrobat Reader, you can download it from the Adobe Web site for free.

Each file will take several minutes to download, depending on your system and connection. You can view each document by simply clicking on the links above. Once the file appears in your browser window and completely downloads, you can save the document using the "Save as" option in your File menu. (You may rename the files "thought1.pdf" and "thought2.pdf" before saving them.)

To save/download the PDF files directly to your hard drive without first viewing them, follow these steps:

Windows users
1.RIGHT click on the mouse over the PDF file link you wish to save.

2.Save the file to hard disk.

MAC users
1.Hold the OPTION key down and click on the mouse over the PDF file link you wish to save.

2. Select "Save this link as. . ." from the Menu box that appears and then save the file to hard disk.

Hope this works. Let me know if you have problems. For those who attended my session in new York, thanks for coming! See you next year in Miami!
