The Art of Ancient Egypt - The Metropolitan Museum of Art

This on-line resource has been created to provide an understanding of ancient Egyptian art and its central role in Egyptian civilization. It is primarily organized around three themes: "Ancient Egyptian Beliefs," "Looking at Egyptian Art," and "The Story of the Collection." Resources and curriculum connections sections are designed to help educators integrate the art of ancient Egypt into their classrooms.

ArtFul Minds is a dynamic, interactive web site that provides educators with the resources needed to build a bridge to the learning environments of the 21st century.

Doceo - The Whitney Museum of Art

Doceo (Latin for "I teach") focuses on Inquiry + Art + Education to explore the richness and diversity of American art and culture, and specifically how they relate to K-12 curricula.  In Doceo, you'll find a variety of creative on-line tools, interdisciplinary teaching materials, primary source documents and classroom activities. But, you must register on the site (which is free) to take full advantage of the tools and resources available. Doceo was created using works of art from the Whitney Museum’s permanent collection and temporary exhibitions. This is an extraordinary web resource that shouldn't be missed!

Education Kit for Australian Painting - National Gallery of Victoria on Russell

This on-line resource is intended for kids; however, art teachers may find the in-depth analysis provided helpful in planning lessons on Australian Landscape painting.

Find Yourself - Face to Face

This is a nice set of downloadable instructional materials from The Minneapolis Institute of Arts. Included is a teacher's guide, page-size images, student information sheets, and activity sheets. To read these files requires Adobe Acrobat.

Looking at Student Work (no longer active)

This web site presents new ways of looking at student work, ways that emphasize: teachers looking together at student work with colleagues; focusing on small samples of student work; reflecting on important questions about teaching and learning; and using structures and guidelines ("protocols") for looking at and talking about student work.
