MEREDITH FARNUM has studied dance since childhood, when she began taking ballet and tap classes. As a teenager, she added jazz and pointe classes and danced for two years with the Lake Mary Dance Company. In 1994, Meredith received her BFA in Dance from the University of Florida. While dancing at UF, she was trained in ballet, pointe, jazz, musical theater, and modern. She was also a performing member and choreographer for Floridance, as well as its president from 1992-93. Meredith served as adjunct faculty at the University of Florida since 1997 and a teacher and choreographer for Cameron Dancenter since 1996, where she teaches ballet, jazz, hip-hop, and all levels of modern. Meredith has been a performer, choreographer and rehearsal coach for the DansCompany of Gainesville since 1996. She has danced in The Wiz, CATS, solo roles such as "Persian Peacock" and "Woodsprite Queen” in Cinderella and many other ballet, jazz, and modern pieces. Meredith has attended many workshops and master classes including Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, David Parsons Dance Company, Pilobolus, Shapiro and Smith Dance, Merce Cunningham, and Florida Dance Masters Teacher's workshops. She loves teaching and sharing her experiences and inspirations with her students.
