YANCI BUKOVEC is Associate Professor and specializes in voice, speech and related movement and actor training in the School of Theatre and Dance.  Yanci's approach to voice, speech and actor training stems from his international studies, work, research and multi-lingual influences and highlights an inclusive, global and diverse perspective.  Yanci has lectured and taught extensively in Europe, Canada, U.S.A., the Orient, and as far "down under" as Australia and New Zealand.

Internationally acclaimed actor, mime, and devisor of movement theater, Yanci has performed in more than thirty countries.  As Producing Artistic Director, his one-man shows and company productions have toured to prestigious festivals and theatres throughout the world.  Yanci initially came into prominence as the Assistant, Collaborator, and Performing Stage Partner of the legendary French mime, Marcel Marceau.  Their collaboration spanned over eight years, appearing together in hundreds of major theatres across four continents.

Professor Bukovec is the author of two books: "Bewegung und Koerpersprache" and, "Bildlexikon der Mimen".  Published in Germany and translated into english and french, the pictorial illustrations have set a standard for illuminating the language and vocabulary of the actor mime.  As devisor, creator of new work, and choreographer, Yanci has more than two-dozen original works to his credit.

For twenty years, prior to joining UF, School of Theatre and Dance, Professor Bukovec worked out of Paris, Budapest, Vienna, London, and Athens, enriching his research into the total actor through world-wide performance, directing, and cultural cross-pollination.  He maintains a center of operations: "Akademie - Theater in Bewegung", in Hamburg for his European and international touring, workshops, and outreach.

Professor Bukovec is a member of Screen Actors' Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, Canadian Actors' Equity, Alliance of Canadian Film, Television and Radio Artists.
