PAUL FAVINI received his Master of Fine Art in Costume Design from Indiana University (Bloomington). He also holds a BS in Business Administration/Marketing from the University of Scranton and an AAS in Display and Exhibit Design from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York.

Professor Favini is experienced in all aspects of costume design and construction as well as fabric dyeing, millinery, wig styling, tailoring and make-up design. By combining these skills with a strong foundation in the elements of good design he is able to offer his students excellent preparation for a professional career.

Professor Favini takes a "hands-on" approach to his teaching. Careful guidance, an understanding of rules and theories, as well as projects that challenge and stretch students' abilities are the core of Professor Favini's philosophy. Through creative involvement students find greater understanding of the profession and a rewarding career. Professor Favini stresses the importance of careful research and thorough documentation of each project. This assists the student with development of an impressive portfolio of work.

Professor Favini has designed for numerous companies including Gateway Playhouse (Bellport, Long Island), The Cape Playhouse (Cape Cod), Broward Stage Door (Coral Springs, Florida), Palm Beach Opera (Palm Beach, Florida), and Tri-Cities Opera (Binghamton, New York). Additionally, he has constructed wardrobes for productions for the Goodspeed Opera House (East Haddam, Connecticut) and the Ringling Brothers, Barnum and Bailey Circus. Most recently he held the position of Resident Designer with Costume World, Inc. (Deerfield Beach, Florida), the second largest costume rental house in the United States.

Most recently he designed the costumes for a production of Gypsy presented by Phoenix Entertainment that toured  the United States and Canadathe throughtout 2007 and 2008.
Professor Favini is a proud member of United Scenic Artists, Local 829.
