Empty Bowls/2008-2009

Empty Bowls is national organization that allows communities and groups throughout the U.S. to use their name and project as a way to raise money to combat hunger.  For the event, simple meal of soup and bread in served to the community in handmade ceramic bowls.  Participants take home their bowls as symbol that hunger is an enduring crisis all over the world.  IFAH will be holding our version of Empty bowls in Spring 2008. Money raised from selling tickets to the Empty Bowls event will go toward an organization fighting hunger in the Gainesville community. We are planning on partnering with the UF Ceramics Department to hold a bowl make-a-thon.
