Bellingham Electronic Arts Festival (BEAF) Nov. 30-Dec. 3, 2006 Bellingham, WA, USA Call For Submissions [receipt deadline: 7/21/06] The Bellingham Electronic Arts Festival is currently inviting submissions involving sound from electronic artists for performances and presentations. Now in its third year, the festival is expanding into a four-day multi-venue event, with a variety of shows presented at spaces on the Western Washington University campus and in downtown Bellingham from November 30 to December 3, 2006. More details about featured guests, venues, shows, and lineups will be made public as things develop over the next two months. Current plans include themed shows covering many musical/artistic styles at theaters, clubs, galleries, coffeehouses, and halls; lectures/ papers/demos/discussions; and parties. Interested artists should send a work sample (CD or DVD) and/or web link providing information about the artist(s) performing, and any other information about your work or installation idea by July 21. All artists must attend the festival and supply their own performers, except in the case of works for fixed media. BEAF welcomes submissions for: Electropop/Experimental pop performances ~ Live DJs Experimental performances (improvisation, noise, IDM, glitch, ambient, hip-hop, etc.) Electroacoustic concert music with or without video or performers (2-channel only) Installations (with sound) [works without sound may be requested by BEAF at a later time] Paper presentations, lectures, demonstrations, workshops (any topic related to the arts and technology) All mail submissions must include contact info and should be sent to: Bruce Hamilton/BEAF Western Washington University Music Dept., MS-9107 Bellingham, WA 98225 Include a SASE if you wish materials to be returned. All other materials will be kept at WWU for future programming consideration. Notifications for electroacoustic works, installations, and papers selected for inclusion at BEAF will take place by 8/21/06 via email (and web posting).
