Research Interests:

Mediation, experience, installation, subjectivity, ubiquitous computing, place, visualization

Research Summary:

As an artist, I am concerned with the ways culture is constructed, and the means with which ideology is embedded. Digital media allows me to get at the core of my interests in a way that more clearly communicates these concerns, and directly reflects the modes with which meaning is created in society. Digital media naturally raises issues of "reality" and complements my interest in this topic from an artistic point of view. For these reasons, my research involves video games, installation art, ubiquitous computing, software studies, and distributed applications. This range of interests necessitates fluency with computer programming, and involves the experimental use of hardware and sensors.
