The UF Friends of Theatre and Dance award their 1st Annual Scholarships

(L-R) FoTD President-Elect Mary Stuart Mank, Matthew Lindsay - Theatre Scholarship winner, School Director Kevin Marshall, Brandon Washington - Dance Scholarship winner, FoTD President Tallulah Brown, FoTD Board Member Roman Janos
Welcome to the web page for the University of Florida Friends of Theatre and Dance, a group of dynamic people who have joined forces to support the UF College of Fine Arts School of Theatre and Dance. Thank you for your interest!
The school has a strong artistic program with internationally recognized faculty members. Its students are highly dedicated and talented, and a great deal of pleasure to watch! You are invited to join us as a member, to enjoy the many exciting performances at the Constans Theatre, Black Box Theatre, and the dance studios at the Nadine McGuire Theatre and Dance Pavilion in the center of UF’s campus. As an active member you will be notified with more details as we plan for a new, major fundraiser in April 2009.
The UF Friends of Theatre and Dance (FoTD) is a brand new group, all of us united by, and passionate about, our love for theater and dance. Created in early 2008, we have already achieved significant milestones as we begin to support the school. We have established a Board of Directors and Bylaws, and in April 2008 we awarded two scholarships, one in theater and one in dance, each to a student selected by faculty as showing the most professional promise.
We want to do more, and you can help us.
You can help us with our goal of raising funds which will be dedicated to scholarships and to providing financial support for student travel and performances abroad. Another goal of FoTD is to raise money for domestic transportation, so that students can attend regional and national events that will showcase their talent.
Indeed, our business is these students! We want to show everyone that the University of Florida is championship-level on the performing arts stage, as well as the athletic field. The school’s performance schedule will be updated on the Friend’s site, as well as on the school’s website. Please keep an eye on us, our events, the school’s overall performance, and, perhaps most importantly, consider becoming a member to get updates and advance notice of all of these events and activities.
The next step is to JOIN and I hope you do! We are looking forward to your membership!
Sincerely,
Tallulah Brown
President
