The Art and Design program is an intensive six week course placing students under the guidance of some of Prague's most talented artists/designers. Together you will explore the spontaneous exuberant graphic art of a country known for its unique artistic expression. Work for this course will be inspired by performances, reading, and visits to studios. Students will also attend presentations on historical and contemporary graphic art. The studio is comprised of workshops in stone lithography, intaglio printing, and poster design.

For the $2950 fee, participants receive 6 (transferrable) credit hours offered through the Design and Architecture Departments at the North Carolina State University School of Design upon successful completion of the six week program in the Czech Republic. Included in the fee are: all accomodations, tuition, work space, some materials, lectures, site visits, a variety of classical and contemporary evening performances, visits to museums and galleries, in-city transportation passes for unlimited travel on the subway, trams, and buses within Prague, excursions through western Bohemia (one weekend) and southern Bohemia (three days) visiting picturesque towns and villages and castles. Not included: meals and airfare.

Non-NCSU students should verify the acceptance of transferred credit from NCSU by their home institutions. University of Florida students may contact Maria Rogal by email: mrogal@ufl.edu or by phone: 375-0889 for more information.
