ADMISSIONS
Students who combine a desire to work in a museum setting with a strong interest in an academic discipline should consider the University of Florida graduate program in museum studies. The museum studies program at the University of Florida is an interdisciplinary program that embraces students from a wide variety of academic disciplines. The strongest candidates have high grade point averages and strong GRE scores, but this is not the only criteria used in evaluating a student's potential. Equally important are the student's letters of recommendation and personal statement. Evidence of extracurricular activity and/or volunteer work in a non-profit or museum are other criteria that the admissions committee considers as it evaluates student applications.
Applications are typically accepted for the fall term only and should be sent no earlier than one year before you plan to enroll. Applications must be received by February 1 .
The University of Florida has a two-step application process. Applicants apply to both the University of Florida Graduate School and the School of Art and Art History. Please visit the School of Art and Art History for more information.
