Undergraduate Studies

The undergraduate music education program at the University of Florida School of Music is comprehensive and prepares students to enter the music education profession with the skills and knowledge to teach successfully. Through a sequenced series of courses and pre-service public and laboratory school teaching experiences, students who successfully complete the program fulfill the requirements for Florida Teacher Certification in Music in grades K-12. Florida certification is also reciprocal in other states. The UF music education curriculum is approved by the Florida Department of Education, the National Association of Schools of Music, and the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education.
