"'If a man speaks in the forest, and no woman is there to hear him...is he still wrong?'
I started playing french horn when I was in the sixth grade. I bought my first clarinet in the eighth grade and completely forgot about the horn altogether. I've always enjoyed playing and I am glad that I have the opportunity to pursue my interest here at the University of Florida. I currently play in the Wind Symphony, University Orchestra, Clarinet Choir, Contemporary Music Ensemble (where I play bass clarinet), and the Central Florida Symphony Orchestra. During the fall semesters I also play clarinet in the marching band where I was section leader this past season. My outside interests tend to be varied and I am always trying new things."

"I am a first year graduate student in Wind Conducting, with a special love and commitment to the clarinet as well.  In order to be a qualified and reputable conductor, one must first be a qualified and reputable musician, in which a great amount of my time is spent improving upon.  My main obligations here as a graduate assistant with the band include assisting with the marching band in the fall and conducting the concert band in the spring.  I play Bb clarinet in the Wind Symphony and the Eb contra-alto clarinet in the Clarinet Choir, as well as performing in a woodwind quintet and other ensembles, as time and opportunity permits.
