Florida Electroacoustic Music Festival

The festival presents the finest in contemporary electroacoustic art music from around the world. Composers of the works chosen through peer review are on hand during the event to present their compositions and interact with University of Florida students, faculty, and staff as well as the general community. Special focus is given annually to a special guest composer-in-residence which have included noted composers of electroacoustic music such as Paul Lansky, Richard Boulanger, Barry Truax, Larry Austin, Joel Chadabe, Jon Appleton, Gary Lee Nelson, Cort Lippe, and Hubert S. Howe, Jr. Papers, demonstrations, and studio reports are also presented during the three day festival. The ten concerts are be given on a state-of-the-art 12-channel sound diffusion system. Prague International Piano Master Classes

Lessons with the international artist faculty, public recitals in the historical center of Prague, master classes, tours of Prague, and more. A limited number of observers will be admitted at a reduced rate. [More Info]

Summer Choral Pedagogy

Choral Pedagogy, an interdisciplinary study of choral teaching techniques and vocal health, is the newest academic field in the training of music educators.


Summer Programs

Workshops in special areas such as music technology and computer-assisted instruction, as well as a comprehensive high school band camp, augment the regular academic program during the summer months. Guest artists, conductors and clinicians highlight these special summer programs.

The University of Florida Young Pianists Festival

The University of Florida Young Pianists Festival is a unique music camp for pre-college pianists, ages 13 to 18. Over the course of seven days, students will engage in a variety of enriching musical activities. [More Info]

Visiting Artists Program

Each year, the School of Music, with the support of the Office of the President, produces a series of musical events in which recognized performers, composers and scholars are invited to the University for recitals, concerts, master classes and lectures. These guest artists, working with faculty, students and members of the community, bring an added dimension to the musical education of our students, and to the musical life of the College and the University.
