Opera à la Carte: A Showcase
This program features highlights from some of the world’s most beloved operas, including exciting scenes from Mozart’s “Magic Flute,” Johann Strauss’ “Die Fledermaus,” Weber’s “Der Freischütz,” and Bizet’s “Carmen,” as well as several classical musical theatre excerpts from Gilbert and Sullivan’s “Mikado” and “Pirates of Penzance” and Bernstein’s “Candide.” More than 40 beautifully costumed singers from UF’s School of Music and the School of Theatre and Dance will perform scenes from these and other operas.
