Description/Purpose
This course will focus on percussion
literature as it relates to performance and pedagogy. Music, method books,
and reference texts will be explored.
Policies
The student is expected to attend
all classes as scheduled. The student will
compile a notebook of annotated bibliographies of the various items studied and
present them on a weekly basis. Music
provided by the instructor and reference texts from the music library will be
studied. In addition, the student is
expected to explore music stores and Internet resources for additional music
and method books. The final project will
consist of a compilation of the class assignments. Graduate students will complete an additional
project to be determined by the instructor.
