Graduate Assistantships

Graduate assistantships in the School of Music are offered on a competitive basis to highly qualified students. A limited number of assistantships are available, and there may not be openings every year in every instrumental area. If you are intetrested in an assistantship, you should apply. Often assistantship availability is not announced until after the application deadlines have passed.

Grad Quartet 2005 Application for an assistantship should be made with your application for admission. Be sure to complete the separate Application for Assistantship, and include it with your application. In order to be considered for an assistantship, your application should be complete (including the audition) by the end of February. Earlier applications may recieve preferential treatment.

Please contact Dr. Helton if you plan on applying for an assistantship.

The Graduate Assistantship will cover tuition for 9 credits per semester (full time enrollment) for two years. It also includes a stipend of approximately $5500 per year.
