Scholarships
Scholarships are available for music study at the University of Florida. There are four basic types of awards:
- Undergraduate merit scholarships
- Undergraduate band scholarships
- Special undergraduate scholarships
- Graduate Assistantships
Indicate your interest in undergraduate scholarships on the School of Music application.
The first two scholarships listed above are awarded based on the quality of the entrance audition, and the potential for the applicant to succeed at UF.
Special scholarships are awarded to select upper class music majors who have distinguished themselves through outstanding scholarship and service to the university and profession. These scholarships are awarded each spring by the full faculty. These one-time awards range from $1000 to $5000. Selection criteria can be found in the student handbook once you are on campus. Applications for these awards are accepted after two years of undergraduate study.
Applicants for the graduate program must complete a separate application for a Graduate Assistantship (get more information on the Graduate Assistantship page of this web site). Awards are based primarily on performance ability.
