Since 1980, Eugene Grissom has made annual donations to establish and maintain the Eugene Grissom Trombone Library at the University of Florida, a collection housed in the Music Library. This extensive reference library now contains what may be the largest collection of published music for solo trombone and trombone ensembles in any university in the world. In addition to printed music, the collection includes compact discs, tapes, and laser video discs. Eugene Grissom is an Emeritus Professor at the University of Florida, where he was chairman of the Department of Art for 15 years. His first degree, however, was in music with trombone as his principal instrument. Throughout his teaching career, and now in retirement, he has maintained his interest in the trombone and for those who play it. Grissom includes among his personal friends such trombone artists as Buddy Baker, Ray Anderson, Conrad Herwig, Bill Watrous, Phil Wilson, and especially the late Frank Rosolino.

The collection is integrated into the regular library holdings which can be accessed through the UF Library's web search page.
