College of Fine Arts and the School of Theatre and Dance present Damn Yankees

Come see the University of Florida perform the Tony Award-winning Adler and Ross musical Damn Yankees, directed by Tony Mata and choreographed by Ric Rose and Judy Skinner. The show features UF students singing and dancing, along with beautiful costumes and multiple sets. It is sure to provide an entertaining night for students and the Gainesville community, particularly those with an affinity for America’s favorite pastime—baseball.

Damn Yankees is a twist on the German legend of Faust, made famous partly by Charles Gounod's opera, La damnation de Faust. Adler and Ross' musical is set in the 1950s and tells the story of a worn-out baseball fan who sells his soul to the devil in order to become a young Major League Baseball star. To live his new life of athleticism and celebrity, he must leave his wife behind. Will the devil’s tempting tricks work, or will true love prove more powerful than fame and glory?

The University of Florida performs a musical every Fall, and tickets often sell out, so buy yours early! The show is family-friendly, and the talent of the student performers and designers will blow you away. Featuring the classic musical numbers, “Shoeless Joe from Hannibal, MO”, “Whatever Lola Wants, Lola Gets”, and "Gotta Have Heart", along with many others, the UF School of Theatre and Dance production of Damn Yankees is sure to hit a home run!

The show runs November 6- November 15, in the Constans Theatre at the Nadine McGuire Theatre & Dance Pavilion.
