2007

Chetan Tierra , participant in 2006, won Second Prize at the New Orleans International Piano Competition.


Lauma Skride, participant in 2005, is under professional concert music management in
Berlin, Germany.

2006

We celebrated our 10th Anniversary in the summer of 2006.

Several PIPM participants performed and participated at a new masterclass at the Composers House of Creativity in Ruza, Russia during February of 2006.

Clara Shin and Polina Bespalsko were two of the winners of the Rachmaninov Institute in Catania, Sicily in August. Clara Shin was chosen to perfom Gershwin's Raphsody in Blue with the Seoul Art Center's Festival Orchestra in May-June 2006. Clara has previously placed in Second Place at the Cincinatti World Piano Competition.

January 2005

Several Prague International Piano Masterclasses participants took part in the University of Florida Steinway Festival during January, 2005: Akimi Fukuhuara (San Francisco Conservatory), Quentin Kim (Yale University), Galit Gertzensohn (Cincinatti Conservatory), Marie Helene Trempe (University of Montreal) and Ji-Young Byun (Choate School, Connecticut) played in masterclasses for Philippe Entremont and performed in concert at the University Auditorium.

November 2002

The Jan Deyl Conservatory received several new pianos, including Steinway and Petrof uprights and grands for the practice rooms. A new nine-foot Hamburg Steinway was also installed in the Baroque recital hall and will be used by our participants thoughout the festival. The pianos replace older instruments which were damaged or destroyed in last summer's floods.
