The Fine Arts Scholarship Enhancement Fund
Guidelines for Award Recipients

In order for funds to be released, the faculty member must sign the acceptance form stating that she/he understands and is willing to abide by the guidelines for the use of these funds and return the form to the Dean's Office.

If the proposal did not receive full funding, the expenditures can be adjusted from the original request, but they must be in the "spirit" of the initial proposal budget. A revised budget must be submitted to the Dean's Office, in order for funds to be released.

At the time awards are granted/funded the unit's fiscal officer will determine the categories and amounts for expenditures (OPS, Salary, OE, or Travel) based on the original or revised budgets submitted. Once the expenditure categories have been established, they cannot be changed.

Funds must be used during the twelve-month award period (approximately January 1 to December 31). At the end of the year, any remaining balance on the award will not be available to the recipient.

Florida law stipulates that all equipment and property purchased with state funds (including Fine Arts Scholarship Enhancement Funds) is the property of the University of Florida. All equipment costing over $1,000 will receive a decal as state property and inventoried each year. All technology equipment, regardless of cost, will be decaled and made available for annual inventory checks. This includes video cameras, VCRs, printers, computers, etc.

PLEASE NOTE:
All recipients must cite the award on all programs, exhibition catalogs, books, etc. when that event, exhibition or publication is a direct result of research supported from a Fine Arts Scholarship Enhancement Award. Use the following wording:

The author/artist/performer wishes to thank (acknowledge) the University of Florida Office of Research and Graduate Programs, which provided funding for this project/performance through the Fine Arts Scholarship Enhancement Award Fund.

    OR

Funding for this project/performance was provided by the University of Florida Office of Research and Graduate Programs through the Fine Arts Scholarship Enhancement Award Fund.

All award recipients are required to submit a one-page report that outlines the results of the research project (usually in October.)

If these guidelines are not followed, the recipient will not be eligible for a grant during the next award period!!!
