YANCI BUKOVEC studied with Arthur Lessac (one of the foremost voice, speech, and body training innovators of this century) and is Certified to teach The Lessac Methods. He has been on Mr. Lessac's faculty for The Summer Intensive Voice and Body TrainingWorkshops and has held dozens of workshops throughout Europe. Professor Bukovec and Professor Lessac conduct team workshops, seminars, and lecture performances (most recently at the University of Memphis). Together they have embarked on continued collaborative research and exploration in the areas of Professor Bukovec's ‚mimosensics' body training and Professor Lessac's body of work in, kinesensics' with the aim of publishing their findings and applications.

In the field of pantomime and movement/visual theatre Professor Bukovec has performed with his one-man shows and company productions in more than thirty countries. He initially came into prominence as the Assistant, Collaborator, and Performing Stage Partner of the legendary French mime Marcel Marceau. Their collaboration spanned over eight years, appearing together in hundreds of major theatres throughout the world, in more than a thousand five hundred performances

As an educator, Professor Bukovec has taught extensively in Europe and the Orient. In Hamburg, Germany, he founded "Theater in Bewegung", a training academy for the performing arts, and, established the European Chapter of the Lessac System Institute.

Professor Bukovec is the author of two books on the art of mime/pantomime: "Bewegung und Koerpersprache", and, "Bildlexikon der Mimen". Published in Germany, the photographic illustrations have set a standard for illuminating the language and vocabulary of the mime actor. "Michelangelo - The Last Giant" (premiered at the PCPA Theaterfest, California), and, "The Franchise" (produced in Budapest, Hungary) are among the plays he has written. For the visual/mime/dance theatre he has written and choreographed over thirty pieces, ranging from short five minute etudes to one act mimodramas. He is a member of Screen Actrors' Guild, American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, Canadian Actors' Equity, Association of Canadian Television and Radio Artists.
