McGuire Pavilion

In fall 2004, the Nadine McGuire Theatre and Dance Pavilion became the new home of the School of Theatre and Dance through the generous donation of Dr. William W. and Mrs. Nadine M. McGuire. The McGuire Pavilion, a 46,000- square-foot, three-story addition to the renovated Constans Theatre, was expressly designed to nurture learning, performance and artistic growth in a highly aesthetic and artistically focused environment. This contemporary vision of the award-winning Zeidler Architectural Partnership brings together actors, dancers, designers, students, and faculty in a light-filled, atrium-centered building, reflecting sky, water, and the leading edge of architectural imagination. The building features a renovated 415-seat mainstage theatre, four new acting studios, three dance studios, an expanded scenic shop, a Pilates/Physical Therapy studio, a 3,600 square-foot Black Box Theatre, a costume shop, two design labs, two computer labs, and a fully functional light lab for theatre and architecture. It also houses the School's faculty and administrative offices. The McGuire Pavilion is located in the heart of the campus of the University of Florida.
