Message From Our Director
Welcome to the University of Florida School of Theatre and Dance where diversity, discovery and risk form the foundation for one of the most exciting theatre and dance programs in the United States. The Nadine McGuire Theatre and Dance Pavilion, a state-of- the-art 46,000 square feet of newly constructed performance, teaching, design, production, and office space opened in the fall of 2004 and provides for our student actors, dancers and designers some of the finest theatre and dance facilities available anywhere.The theatre and dance program at the University of Florida has a faculty internationally recognized for their outstanding teaching, creativity, scholarship, and professional experience that enrich their studentsÅf work daily in the classroom.
Our students' achievements are remarkable. Each year many of our students receive awards and scholarships for their artistry and academic success. UF theatre and dance students also have special opportunities each year for performance and study experiences throughout the world. Recent UF productions traveled to Russia, Greece and Scotland. Our graduates work in the best theatres, studios, organizations and entertainment venues in the industry.
