Credits: 2. MUT 1001 is a course designed to acquaint students with the basic fundamentals of music, including the following:Notational system for music of the Western world, Notation of pitch and rhythm, The scaler basis for tonality, Major/Minor tonal centers, Key signatures Intervals and their distinct qualities, Common scales and modes and Structure of triads. This will be done through practical application through aural exercises and work at the piano.
