All-Inclusive
Participant Fee: $575.00
This fee includes all classes and performances, three private lessons, dormitory housing (double occupancy) for six nights, and three daily meals. Participants in the
Gainesville area may attend as Day Campers for $475.00. This fee
includes all classes and private instruction, and daily lunch and dinner.
To encourage and motivate the broadest range of students, the Festival will also accept a limited number of Observers at the rate of $400.00 (includes room/board). Observers attend all events, yet have no performance obligations. Private lessons are available to observers for a fee of $40.00 per lesson, according to faculty availability.
All applicants must
send a completed application form with a non-refundable check for
$40.00 payable to the University of Florida, or credit card
authorization, to the address on the form. Applicants must also include
an audition tape/CD of two contrasting pieces/ movements from the
standard classical repertoire. On the application form, students
must also indicate at least two contrasting pieces for performance/study
at the festival. One may be a work in progress, but at least one
must be memorized and suitable for public performance. Festival
pieces may be different from those on the tape.
Delma
Nelson Memorial Scholarship: In honor of the late Forida piano teacher, Delma Nelson, we are pleased to offer one FULL scholarship to the festival. To
be considered, applicants must include a one-page,
double-spaced essay describing how the study of piano has enriched
their lives. One winner will be chosen, by an independent committee,
based both upon the quality/level of playing (on the submitted CD/tape)
and quality of the essay. Previous winners are not eligible.
Applications must be postmarked by April 20, 2009. As space is limited,
applications will be considered on a first-come-first-serve basis.
After April 20, a $25 rush fee will apply. Upon being accepted to the
festival, application fees (less rush fees) will be credited toward
festival tuition. At this time, participants will receive the details of
their account balance, which must be paid in full by June 1, 2009. Please DO NOT send full
payment with the application.
