"It's about innovation and a commitment to craft—for music composition to last beyond a lifetime it must have a uniquely eternal quality. Instruments have always been added to our orchestration so why not embrace cpu-based technology as valid as any piece of pipe, wood, string or vocal chord!" Sain is known for his work in alternative controllers for music performance and as the founder of the internationally acclaimed Florida Electroacoustic Music Festival. His ongoing dedication to the design and implementation of interdisciplinary projects lead to a cooperative project with colleagues in dance and electrical engineering aimed toward developing an alternative MIDI controller for dance. This project culminated in the premiere of his techno-ballet, Ender's Game. The editors of Discover Magazine nominated the MIDI Movement Module (M3), developed for Ender’s Game, for their Award for Technological Innovation in Sound.
