The UF School of Theatre and Dance (SOTD) is pleased to present the Spring Bachelors of Fine Arts (BFA) Dance Showcase, a production coordinated by University of Florida (UF) Associate Professor of Dance Ric Rose. Performances are at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. on April 10, 7 p.m. on April 11, 7:30 p.m. on April 12 and 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. on April 13 in G-6 Studio located in the Nadine M. McGuire Theatre and Dance Pavilion on UF’s campus. Tickets are $9.

Always new and always edgy, this showcase offers student choreographers, guest artists, the amazing “Dance For Life” program, community choreographers and guest performers a delightful opportunity to present works of dance/theatre to the public. Senior BFA dance majors have the opportunity to present solos by guest artists as they prepare for the next stages of their dance careers post-graduation. The showcase also displays the work of the school’s Composition 4 students. This is their final level of course work/presentation before they go on to work on their Senior Choreography Project during the fall.

In addition to compositions from UF’s dance majors, the showcase includes the “Community in Motion” concert. This concert will feature work performed by students from Valencia College and participants in the Arts in Medicine “Dance for Life” class, as well as other select works. This concert is at 1 p.m. on April 12 in the McGuire Pavilion. It is free and open to the public.

Tickets are available through the University Box Officelocated at the Stephen C. O'Connell Center, by calling352-392-1653 or at ticketmaster.com. Season and group prices are also available. The Nadine M. McGuire Theatre and Dance Pavilion is located at 687 McCarty Drive, Gainesville, FL 32611. On-campus parking is available at the Reitz Union garage and the Museum Road parking lot. Guests are strongly encouraged to pick up tickets early, as shows run the risk of being sold out.
