Recital Guidelines
The recital date should be reserved at the beginning of the year (August) with Dr. Pickeral. Forms for this purpose can be found online and in the front office. Please coordinate your recital date with Dr. Helton and other members of your committee. Consider also the School of Music performance calendar. Juniors may present joint recitals.
Length of recital: Junior recital: 30-45 minutes of music. Senior and Graduate recitals: 45 to 60 minutes of music.
A three-member recital committee must be chosen. Two members should be from the woodwind faculty; one member should be from another area. For undergraduate recitals, this committee should be established no later than the beginning of the semester in which the recital is to be given. Graduate students should have their committe formed in no later than the middle of their third semester in residence.
A recital jury must take place at least two weeks prior to the recital date. This jury must be accompanied. The student is responsible for arranging a date and time convenient for all members of the committee to attend.
A printed copy of your program must be submitted to jury members at the recital jury.
