The Supervisory Committee
The supervisory committee is an important body comprised of key faculty members who will guide you in the shaping of your coursework, your final project (recital), and oral exams. This committee must be formally established before the end of the second semester of graduate coursework.
For Master's Degree students in woodwinds, the committee should include threee members. For saxophonists, Dr. Helton will be chair of the committee. The other two committee members should be chosen in consultation with the committee chair, and should include one faculty member from a non-performance area.
Detailed information on the forming of this committee can be found in the School of Music Graduate Handbook. See Dr. Odom when you are ready to have your committee officially appointed.
